Eating House Miami – Home of the Best Chicken & Waffles in Miami, and Just About Everything Else!

I’ve been meaning to shine some spotlight on Eating House for a long time now for many reasons.

One, not just because it is one of my favorite restaurants in Miami and I enjoy eating there on the regular, but mostly because it is one of those rare gems where you can’t go wrong with anything you order there.

Eating House is a casual tiny place on Ponce and it fills up quite fast. With a large graffiti wall and low-key interiors, they master in serving fresh, great quality locally-sourced ingredients. The dress code is plaid shirts and a good vibe.

If you for some reason could only order ONE THING here and ONE thing only, you HAVE to order the chicken & “foie-ffles.”

chicken and foie-ffles

Listen to me. These are literally the best chicken and waffles in Miami (Food Noize seal of approval) made with the crispiest fried chicken and fluffy waffles made from foie gras. Add candied bacon, maple syrup and some god damn secret sauce that is so god damn good you might just lose your shit. These are not those ordinary chicken and waffles you’ve ordered everywhere else. The waffles are fluffy and perfect, and the sauces really bring everything together and compliment the dish in the most divine way possible. You need to order this quick, because I’ve experienced them running out of this and it will kill you slowly inside.

My second favorite dish is their pasta carbonara with delicious bacon, a classic ‘carbonara’ egg and just the right hint of truffle, topped with grana padano cheese. The dish is massive but you will not want to share this. It’s not only my favorite pasta dish but they are consistent with it and it is so good every damn time. There’s never a time I go and not order this.

I tried something new off their menu and ordered their shrimp ceviche. It was pretty good, with slices of sweet potato and topped with cilantro, jalapeños and radishes. This dish also gets the Food Noize stamp of approval as all the flavors here and  perfectly balanced and everything is very fresh, as always.

Walk-ins are always welcome at Eating House but expect to wait a while, especially on the weekend when the place is poppin’. Don’t be like me and just make a reservation, although the wait is really worth it.

As always, until next bite!
