The Original Cvi. Che 105 Review

Before I visit the re-vamped Cvi. Che 105 this week, I decided it wouldn’t be fair to not give the original restaurant a proper review first. I know what you’re probably thinking; ceviche is the same everywhere, right? No. Good ceviche consists of good and fresh quality ingredients, and Cvi. Che 105 is one place that gets it right.

(Check out this video by them, on YouTube channel “CviChe 105”)

Cvi. Che 105 is a Peruvian restaurant located in Downtown Miami. The restaurant is quite spacious and modern with a touch of Peruvian décor.

The very first thing we tried was the pisco fuego (with jalapeno-infused pisco, limes, cilantro and cucumber). I also ordered a classic Mojito, but I immediately regretted not ordering a pisco fuego for myself. It is an interesting (but delicious) spicy drink.

And the food?  My personal favorite is their “sweet potato causa with giant shrimp.” My god. Or should I thank their Incan gods? The best way to describe it is as a small sweet potato cake with lime and orange juices, drizzled with a honey glaze AND there is shrimp ceviche inside.

What would my review be without trying their actual crevice, right? I ordered their ceviche pucusana 105 which is classic ceviche, with corvina marinated in lime juices. It was delicious, but I did find it only slightly salty. I personally didn’t mind,  but to anyone else it may have been a little too much.

I love how passionate their owners are about creating authentic Peruvian dishes and that is what always drives me back. Sometimes you can even see them walking around the restaurant, talking to their customers. They believe in their food, and I believe in it too. I can’t wait to review their newly renovated space and perhaps new items.

Until next bite!
